The constant opening of the island to the world has always been a threat to our traditional culture,and our etnographic heritage has been put at risk due to the appearance of different cultures and lifestyles that have burst into our environment. Jose' Ferrer Perdomo and his wife the painter Remedios Quintana Reyes have founded this Museum.They have been collecting all kind of objects and information for years in order to safeguard this legacy of our ancestors 

   Its varied and many etnographic elements let the visitor have a global vision of our history,characteristic customs and traditions. The symbol " TANIT " is found engraved in a stone of the Well de la Cruz,in San Marcial del Rubicón,Lanzarote,among other geometris motifs and two reproductios of human feet. The symbol refers to TANIT,Carthaginian Goddess,considered Goddess of Love,Luck and Fertility.In the area around you can find an exibition hall,art gallery,garden ancient joist press,chapel shop,cafeteria dance floor for traditional dancers... 
 
 

THE ETNOGRAPHIC MUSEUM TANIT was opened on the 18th February.2000.
